« Back Tuesday, May 31, 2005 Indy 500 Race Day Kenny Brack made an inspirational return to the driverīs seat in the No. 15 Argent Mortgage/Pioneer Honda Panoz Firestone car by clocking the fastest qualifying speed at 227.598 m.p.h. But Brack had to start 23rd from his third day qualifications. Brack played a patient game in the early stages of the race, moving to 18th and getting back in his racing groove. Brack moved to 11th by lap 57 but a steering column nut came loose and forced Kenny out of the race by lap 92. Despite the retirement from the race, Brackīs racing return was very emotional for the team and racing fans. It was 19 months ago that Brack suffered a devastating incident at Texas Motor Speedway. "We had a pretty good car today," said Brack. "But a little part (three cents) took us out of the race. I felt the steering wheel twisting a little bit in my hands. I thought the track was just slippery but the wheel got worse. We didnīt try to push it early and we were letting the race come to us. To be honest, I had the same racecar as Vitor and Danica. We wanted to get to the second half of the race today. But we didnīt get there. I showed that I am back and ready to race in the future if I want to do it."
