« Back den 21 maj 2005 Preparing for qualifying 2005-05-20 SPEEDWAY, Ind. – Kenny Brack, the 1999 Indy 500 champion, was the workhorse on track logging day high 139 laps. In his two day´s on track this week Brack led all drivers in laps driven. Brack was seventh overall with a fast lap of 224.829 mph in the #15 Argent Mortgage/Pioneer Honda/Panoz/Firestone, but he was the quickest of the non-qualified drivers. Brack is filling in for 2004 Indy champ Buddy Rice who was injured in an on track accident on May 11 and not cleared by the series doctors. "We still have some work to do for the race," said Brack. "I know we are fast enough to qualify and to safely put the car in the show, but I am not sure we are where we want to be for race day. We still have a couple of days to finish our program and I know I will be on track this weekend shaking off the rust. Considering I have only had two days in the car, I am pretty happy, but I am not here to just have a good run, I am here to win." Qualifying resumes tomorrow at Noon at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Please go to News at www.kennybrack.com for audio files where Kenny gives comments about the Indy 500. kennybrack.com TB |
