KENNY BRACK & THE SUBWOOFERS TO BE PART OF HONDA INDY 225 PROGRAM SUNDAY AT PPIR

1999 Indy 500 Champ Continues Recovery From Serious Injuries With Guitar

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (August 18, 2004) –Kenny Brack has made a tremendous comeback since his life-threatening injuries suffered last October in the 2003 IRL IndyCar® Series finale at Texas Motor Speedway.

And the 1999 Indy 500 Champion recently tested an Indy Car at Richmond and a sports car in Sweden. But the Rahal Letterman Racing driver won´t be in a racecar this weekend at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

Brack will be performing this Sunday (Aug. 22) as part of the Honda Indy 225 weekend program.

He´ll be on hand to help out his Rahal Letterman Racing teammates Buddy Rice and Vitor Meira and he will play his guitar with his Pioneer-sponsored band at the conclusion of the 225-mile IndyCar race.

Kenny Brack and the Subwoofers will perform Sunday after the main event at PPIR as part of the opening act for Grammy Award winner Lee Ann Rimes at 3:45 p.m. A special stage will be set up on the front straight of the one-mile oval track.

Brack, who began his Subwoofers rock band last year, returns to the stage with his six-person group as they perform for 45 minutes Sunday.

"While I was laid up with my injuries I was able to work a lot on my guitar and the rest of the band and I actually wrote some songs," said Brack, who hopes to return to IRL action in the 2005 season. "Our group of professional musicians are very good and make me look good too. I´m happy to come back to the Pikes Peak and perform for the fans. It will be great to see everyone again. I want to thank everyone for all of the cards, letters, e-mails and calls during my rehab time."

Joining Brack in his rock group will be professional musicians Gene Deer, Kelsey Smith, Charlie Bushor and Smokin´ Dave Wyatt and publicist Kathy Prather.

With Pioneer Electronics as the presenting sponsor for Kenny Brack and the Subwoofers, the band is scheduled to play at selected IRL IndyCar Series races in 2004. The band opened for LIVE at the Indy 500 Carb Day on May 27 this year.
