Kenny Brack & The Subwoofers Back On Stage At Carb Day

KENNY BRACK & THE SUBWOOFERS TO PERFORM
AT MILLER LITE CARB DAY AT THE SPEEDWAY ON MAY 27

Brack Returns To Indy But As A Guitarist Not A Driver

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (May 22, 2003) – The 1999 Indy 500 winner Kenny Brack, recovering from serious injuries in the 2003 IRL IndyCar® Series finale at Texas, will be performing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this month.

But the Rahal Letterman Racing driver won’t in a racecar just yet. He’ll have his trusty ax with him on May 27 when he plays guitar with his Pioneer-sponsored band.

Kenny Brack and the Subwoofers will play on Miller Lite Carb Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 27, when the Indy-based group opens for the rock band LIVE in the infield at 3:30 p.m.

Brack, who began his Subwoofers rock band last year, returns to the stage with his six-person group performing for 45 minutes on Thursday.

“While I was laid up with my injuries I was able to work a lot on my guitar and actually write some songs,” said Brack, who hopes to return to IRL action in the next few months. “We have our same group of professional musicians from the Indianapolis area. They are very good and they make me look good. I’m happy to come back to the Speedway and perform for the fans. It will be great to see everyone again. I want to thank everyone for all of the cards, letters, e-mails and calls during my rehab time.”

Joining Brack in his rock cover group will be local favorites Gene Deer, Kelsey Smith, Charlie Bushor and Smokin’ Dave Wyatt along and racing publicist Kathy Prather.

Indy car driver Bryan Herta will make a special guest appearance with the Subwoofers on Thursday.

With Pioneer Electronics as the presenting sponsor for Kenny Brack and the Subwoofers, the band also will perform at selected IRL IndyCar Series races in 2004.
