Merry Christmas

Dear friends,

After a somewhat long fall Christmas is finally here.
Personally I am going to celebrate Christmas for the first time in USA, together with Anita, my parents and a few friends.

Since we are scheduled to have the baby in the end of this month we were going to spend Christmas here this year anyway and now with my injuries we have “double” reason to do it. We all are looking forward to something different.

I got to tell you that in times like these it’s actually not too bad to be banged up.
I have not spent one second in a shop, sweating, not knowing what to buy, crowded with tons of people, and get away with it. To all the men out there, try that stunt if you dare!

The only shop I have been in was the local music store the other day and man was it crowded! For a long time I have wanted to get a studio/recording machine to record on when we play in the band but also when I sit at home fiddling around. I had planned to get it earlier to avoid the Christmas “craze” but a gallbladder attack, which means incredible pain for about 12 hours, effectively put a stop to that trip.

Speaking of music, KB & the Subwoofers did a concert at the Team Rahal Christmas party the 12th of December. I got out of the hospital just a few days earlier so one could say it was cutting it close, but you got to have challenges, and of course, if you don’t have that many gigs you cannot afford to cancel the ones you’ve got! Jokes aside, it was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. We played for over an hour and sitting in a wheel chair actually works even for a rock show. As long as it got “flip over bars”.

Other than that my days are filled with doctors appointments and rehab. Today is Christmas Eve and I spent the full morning at rehab getting some exercise and stretching.
Friday I am doing water exercises for the first time. I am looking forward to that as it’s supposed to be very effective.
I am getting stronger and stronger and the other day I got clearance from my spine doctor to get rid of the back brace for most of the time. Now I only have to wear it when I am up on crutches, in case I would fall over (however, since this “Off season” has provided very little in terms of partying, I think this chance is minimal).
It’s very nice to be able not to wear the brace because it is quite uncomfortable.
Healing seems to be on schedule so far.

That’s all I have to report this time.
From all of us to all of you, A Merry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I hope you all get what you wish for.

Kenny
